Air Max Day celebrations were in full swing across the globe yesterday, but this surprise occasion may very well top them all.
Niketalk user MECKS shared an Air Max Day story that'll leave any diehard Nike fan feeling a little bit jealous. After signing up for the Nike SNKRS Air Max Box event in Los Angeles, MECKS was hit with an unexpected DM from @NikeLA inviting him to an "exclusive #airmax experience with Tinker Hatfield." As a huge Air Max head and fan of Tinker's work, he jumped at the opportunity, but wasn't quite sure what to expect.
When he arrived at the event, MECKS realized this wasn't any ordinary Nike event. He spotted famous personalities like Mayor and Jason Markk, and it became clear that he was among a small group of VIPs (MECKS estimates there were around 20 other people). What happened next plays out like an Air Max dream.
The group was taken inside the Air Max Box where the man of the hour, Tinker Hatfield, was waiting. Tinker gave a talk about the history of Air Max and how it connects to the recently released Air Max Zero, followed by a Q&A session and meet and greet. MECKS managed to get his pair of Zeros signed and also took home a number of other Air Max related goodies.
