2014 was the year of the Stan Smith. adidas put everything they had behind it and the result was dozens of collaboration pairs in any combination and iteration you could imagine. Colors, textures, styles, everyone could find a Stan Smith that fit into their own personal story.
But 2015 is different. 2015 is the year of the Superstar.
Kicking off the celebration, and acting as an epic teaser, comes this video released by adidas Originals. An interspliced soliloquy starring Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora, Damian Lillard, and David Beckham explain what it is to be a Superstar. Before explaining to us, that they are not that definition. Either our definition is wrong, or there’s a lot about them we don’t know yet.
We’ve seen photos of what Pharrell has up his sleeve with his own pairs of Superstars for 2015, but we all know, as adidas puts this model front and center, there’s a whole lot to come.
