Remember those Michael Jordan game-worn Converse Pro Leathers that sold for $33,387? Well, it turns out that they may not have been worn by MJ, after all.

Auction house Grey Flannel is giving the winning bidder an opportunity to return the shoes and get his money back after a former team manger at UNC has come forward and questioned the validity of the sneakers. According to former student Lindsay Reed, the Tar Heels never wore blue converse basketball sneakers during the 1981-82 season. These claims come after broadcaster Wes Durham tweeted that the sneakers were actually worn prior to Jordan arriving at Chapel Hill.

"The 1981-1982 UNC basketball team did not wear blue Converse basketball shoes at any point during the...season," Reed said. "I challenge anyone to produce a photograph of a 1981-82 UNC basketball game (home or away) in which any member of the 1981-1982 UNC basketball team is wearing blue Converse shoes. No such photo exists."

Furthering the case against the shoes even more is the fact that Grey Flannel had no pictures of Jordan ever wearing the sneakers when the shoes were handed over by the consigner. Whatever the case, one thing we do know is that they were sure one pair of expensive sneakers.
