Hours before the Oklahoma City Thunder took on the Detroit Pistons yesterday, Kevin Durant met with 13-year-old Detroit resident Anthony Cupp for a surprise of a lifetime. According to NewsOK, the Thunder superstar gifted Cupp with two signed pairs of his signature sneakers after learning that the teen had his Nike KDs stolen right off of his feet before Thanksgiving.

The news spread throughout Detroit and event caught the attention of the Pistons organization, who reached out to Durant, knowing the Thunder would be coming to town.

Cupp was made an honorary ball boy for the game, but it was his meeting with Durant that made the experience that much more special.

"He was real nervous," Durant said. "Same thing I would have been if I met my favorite NBA player back then. I was just trying to make him feel as comfortable as possible."

With all the recent news of violence surrounding sneaker culture, it's nice to see an unfortunate event take a positive turn.

KD, you the real MVP.
