Just like everyone else out there, we're anxiously waiting the first images of the Nike Kobe 10 to surface, but for now the Kobe 9 will have to suffice. Nike put in major work with the Kobe 9 EM this summer dropping a fresh colorway seemingly every week. The life of the Kobe 9 might be winding down, so Nike took it back to high school for where it all started for the Mamba.

Coming out of Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania, not many people knew exactly the talent Kobe possessed. The Charlotte Hornets drafted him #13 overall, but was traded on draft day for Vlade Divac in what would prove to be one of the best moves in Lakers history. This Kobe 9 EM comes in a school-spirited maroon mesh through the upper with bright orange contrasts on the outsole and Flywire. The standout of the shoe comes with the gold Swoosh and tongue-logo, which is emblazoned with “1996,” the year Kobe Bryant led Lower Merion to a state title.

Check out the Lower Marion Kobe 9 EM below, and scoop up your pair when they hit shelves December 13.
