This past week, adidas unveiled the latest Lionel Messi tribute cleat, the adizero F50 "Miorosar10." Today, La Liga's all time leading scorer wore the boot on the pitch for the very first time against Valencia.
Messi debuted the cleat in style in Barcelona's 1-0 victory, providing a beautiful cross in the box to Luis Suarez that would set up Sergio Busquets for his game winning rebound. It was great publicity for the boot, which pays homage to Messi's to the first ever club and hometown of Rosario, Arentina. Messi's logo is featured on the heel, but the real story here is the map of Rosario on the insole that features the first ever pitch that Messi and his friends would play on known as the Batallón.
