No. 10 - adidas J Wall 1

Worn by: John Wall
Release date:
October 2014

As Reebok shifted their attention from the courts to CrossFit gyms, Washington Wizards standout John Wall left the brand to join adidas. After rocking models like the Crazyquick last season, Wall once again has his own much-deserved signature shoe. While we would like to see a little more tech on his next sig shoe, this one is definitely getting the job done, because Wall is putting up some of the best numbers of his career.

No. 9 - Air Jordan 11 Low “Concord”

Worn by: Joe Johnson
Release date:
May 2014

Joe Johnson is in the twilight of his career, but he can still get busy and pull out some heaters from time to time. In his 16th season, Johnson is still one of the most consistent players on Jordan Brand. He’s spent the majority of the last month rocking the Jordan Super.Fly 3, but he pulled out the low top version of the “Concord” Jordan XI for a November 3rd game against the Thunder.

No. 8 - Nike Zoom Run The One PE

Worn by: James Harden
Release date: November 2014

The Nike Zoom Run The One wasn’t exactly the James Harden PE some had hoped it would be, but this vibrant player exclusive more than made up for any disappointment. It saw an official release on November 15 and sold out within hours, so you’ll have to resort to eBay if you’re looking to ball like Harden.

No. 7 - Under Armour ClutchFit Drive PE

Worn by: Kemba Walker
Release date: November 2014

Between Kemba Walker and Stephen Curry, the UA ClutchFit Drive has been well represented so far this season. This colorway dropped a couple weeks back, but appears to have completely dried up from online retailers. The good news is that several other colorways, including Curry’s road PE, are still available at the link below.

No. 6 - Air Jordan Retro XIII “He Got Game”

Worn by: LaMarcus Aldridge
Release date: March 2013

Last season, Portland big man LaMarcus Aldridge wore the Nike Air Max Hyperposite for nearly every game, but this year’s he’s been switching it up with various Jordan retros. We were happiest to see him in the “He Got Game” Retro XIII, because it’s one of the rare re-releases that can still get the job done today.

No. 5 - adidas Crazylight Boost PE

Worn by: Andrew Wiggins
Release date: September 2014

Much like Andre Wiggins himself, we’ve only seen a preview of what adidas Boost is capable of. It finally hit the hardwood this year in the form of the Crazylight Boost and D Rose 5, and who better to rep the tech’s debut than the hottest rookie in the league? Unfortunately, you’ll need some major connections to get your hands on the Wiggins PE, but there are still a number of other styles available now.

No. 4 - Nike Kobe 9 Elite PE

Worn by: Kobe Bryant
Release date: February 2014

The Mamba’s back, and he’s already proved he can still drop monster numbers, scoring 25+ in 8 of his 13 games, including a 44-point thrashing against the Warriors. You can never count Kobe out, and the same can be said for his signature shoes. The Kobe 9 Elite may be his most groundbreaking sig yet, and after a string of sellouts, they’re finally available at retail from the link below.

No. 3 - adidas D Rose 5

Worn by: Derrick Rose
Release date: October 2014

The 2014-15 season is off to a shaky start for Derrick Rose, but hopefully he’ll be back and better than ever before we know it. For the five games he’s been active, Rose killed it in the Boost-powered adidas D Rose 5, which is one of our favorite models of the year. The overall design could use some work, but if they stick with full-length Boost again next year, the D Rose 6 could be the shoe of the year.

No. 2 - Air Jordan Retro 3 “OVO”

Worn by: Lou Williams
Release date: N/A

Lou Williams is the kind of guy whose contributions sometimes go unnoticed. He’s always been reliable for solid numbers off the bench, yet he’s never received Sixth Man of the Year or All-Star honors. Despite that, apparently certainly noticed his game. On Veteran’s Day, Williams laced up a golden “October’s Very Own” colorway of the Air Jordan 3. Although we wouldn’t recommend the Jordan 3 for serious on-court wear, it’s impossible to deny this one.

Megafuse, Hyperposite, Flywire, and hexagonal Zoom Air come together to make this the most equipped model of the year. Now if only the Cavs could get some Ws.
