Welcome to the Brewery That Makes You Bike For Your Beer

1.

A brewery in Detroit is using biking as a means of supplying energy to make beer. So in addition to providing exercise and saving the environment, biking now is a way to brew beer. This sounds like a win-win situation any way you spin it.

Set to open next year, Windmill Pointe Brewery will rely on the cycling power of its customers to generate energy for their beer making process. The brewery will have a set of stationary bikes set up for which customers will work up a thirst on before indulging in some brew. The more time customers spend cycling, the more reward points they earn which can be used to redeem merchandise or free beer. Owners Sean and Aaron Grose estimate that the average person, or "Joe Sixpack" as they call him, has the energy to produce two to three beers per hour, a figure that the brothers call BPH.

Watch the video above to find out more about the Windmill Pointe Brewing Company and keep an eye out for its opening next year.
