Is this going to be a thing now? Because we are fully on board if it is. After seeing a glow-in-the-dark outsole on the Nike Zoom CJ Trainer 2 "Court Purple," Nike is once again going to illuminate one of its shoes with the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low "University Red."
We've covered this shoe in the past, but this is the first time that we are hearing of its glow-in-the-dark capabilities. The speckling, laces and heel shimmer all light up when the lights go out. Kobe first used this sneaker on his high-tech House of Mamba court during the Nike RISE campaign. Knowing what we know now, we'd love to see the shoe light up on Mamba's interactive court.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low "University Red" drops this Saturday, September 13 for $200. Stay tuned to Sneaker Report as more sneakers (we hope) get the glow-in-the-dark treatment.
