Who knew a pair of shoes could stand for so much? adidas has unveiled Lionel Messi's cleats that he will wear for UEFA Champions League play and like what Jordan did for Derek Jeter, the boots will celebrate the career accomplishments of the Argentinian superstar.

Modeled after the architecture of Barcelona, the signatue adizero F50 cleat represents every goal Messi has scored, as well as the 21 cities he has scored in. If you thought that was a lot, there's more. The shoes also celebrates the four times Messi has won the Golden Boot award, his four UEFA Champions League hat tricks AND the three times he has hoisted the Champions League trophy with Barcelona.

If you think that's a lot to process, it is. This left us thinking, who nailed the tribute cleat better: Jordan Brand for Jeter or addias for Messi? Compare the two sets of spikes below and let us know what you think. Messi's Champions League adizero F50 cleats will arrive online next week and on the pitch this Wednesday when Barcelona takes on Apoel Nicosia.
