Nike developed the cross-training category to specifically fit the otherworldly needs of multi sport athlete, Bo Jackson. 25-years later, and the category has taken off, leading us to now, as Nike debuts the new state-of-the-art performance trainer, the Lunar TR1.

The Nike Lunar TR1 is the lightest trainer from the Swoosh yet, weighing in at just 9.4oz, it's 25% lighter then it's predecessor. Nike made this possible by utilizing a a lightweight mesh material for the upper, that's integrated with dynamic Nike Flywire to wrap around the foot for an adaptive fit. The weight however, doesn't sacrifice performance, as it keeps athlete's closer to the ground, increasing traction and delivering greater efficiency during rapid changes of direction. A pressure-mapped high-traction outsole was developed to battle the array of movements encountered by athletes, and Nike utilized a Lunarlon midsole for a lightweight responsive cushioning.

The Lunar TR1 is is currently available at the Nike Store and other select retailers.
