There are more sneaker releases each week than most can remember. We're halfway through 2014, and there have been enough amazing (and not so amazing) sneakers to last us until the end of the year. But at this junction, it's time to decide which cream has risen to the top of the sneaker world right now.
That's right, we're counting down the best sneakers of the year, but we're not adding everything to our list. For this ranking, we've compiled the best new sneakers and collaborations (no retros) of the past six months. The list includes wins from adidas, Jordan Brand, Nike, ASICS, New Balance, and more. There are even high-fashion sneakers on here, too. Agree or disagree, here are The Best New Sneakers of 2014 (So Far).
25. size? x Nike Air Max 93 "Metals"
Released: May
The UK's size? can take a lot of credit in the bring back of the Nike Air Max 93. Last year, the retailer put out several quality collaborations with the silhouette. And with Nike doing an official retro of the sneaker this year, size? still had more 93s on deck. The Metals pack was size?'s first work with the 93 in 2014, and the hype on the release had sneakerheads doing their best Merlin impersonations. The teasers for the "Metals" pack had both of the 93s trapped in stone, and they came in a mostly grey color scheme and another makeup that was reminiscent of the "Bacon" Air Max 90. It's tough to go wrong with either option.
