Nike began it's soccer campaign back in 1971 with the release of their first ever boot, aptly named "The Nike". The shoe was the first to feature the iconic Swoosh logo and garnered a $16.95 price tag, but failed to meet expectations as it didn't hold up in cold or wet weather, but it was the launching pad for where Nike is today, the #1 brand in football.

Over the years, Nike learned through research and development, and help from their athletes, to create football products that exceeded expectations and revolutionized the game. With the 2014 World Cup upon us, Nike took a look back at the 25 moments that propelled them to the top of the sport, and helped redefine football gear and apparel as we currently know it.

Dating back through 43 years of products and innovation, including everything from the original Nike boot, to the newly released Magista, Nike details it all. For the full story and in-depth look at the complete history of Nike in Football, head over to Nike Inc.
