Nike Celebrates the History of the Baseball Cleat for Mike Trout Signature Launch

Today, Nike Baseball debuted their brand new Vapor Collection led by Mike Trout, who got his first ever signature cleat, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout. Although Nike spent much of the day unveiling a revolutionary line for baseball athletes everywhere, the team at the Swoosh took some time to look into their long history and give some insight into how they got to where they are today.

Starting in 1980 with the Eliminator cleat, all the way up to the iconic signature models worn by Daryl Strawberry, Wade Boggs, and Ken Griffey Jr, Nike's history in baseball speaks for itself. Today maked a new day for Nike's baseball campaign with the Vapor Collection, as sticking to their old formula and outfitting the brightest emerging stars including Robinson Cano, Matt Kemp, Stephen Strasburg, Andrew McCutchen, and Adam Jones with their latest and greatest products.
