Today, adidas offically unveiled the Energy Boost Icon baseball cleat, marking the first non-runinng shoe to feature the Three Stripes latest cushioning technology.

Boost was originally debuted on running shoes, and has since expanded into to adidas' basketball line for next season. Now, adidas brings their favorite new tech to baseball providing endless energy and acceleration on the field when it matters most. Designed for the five-tool player, the Energy Boost Icon features shockvent windows for maximum ventilation, an external heel clip for peak stability, and a special new print called Demascus to give the cleats a unqie look.

Everything we do at adidas is about making athletes better,” said Aaron Kahn, director of baseball for adidas. “adidas’ innovative Boost technology has revolutionized the running world and we are proud to now offer the same cushioning and energy return to baseball. Any player who spends hours a day on hard dirt in metal spikes will be amazed by what 9th inning energy’ feels like.”

The Energy Boost baseball cleat is part of the Silver Package, which includes the EQT X1 and X2 bats, EQT silver batting glove and EQT silver mitt. The EQT X1 features an extended barrel profile designed for maximum bat speed balance and control, while the EQT X2 boasts permalock connection technology and a durable texin end cap that maximizes the sweet spot.

Check out the  adidas Energy Boost baseball cleat this week at the College World Series when both the University of Louisville and UC Irvine will debut them.

Those interested in grabbing a pair for themselves can do so by heading to Eastbay.
