Under Armour continues to build up its presence in the expansive soccer footwear market with the debut of its latest cleat, the ClutchFit FG. Much like the ClutchFit technology UA has already implemented on the gridiron and hardwood, the same tech will now make an appearance on the soccer pitch via this new silhouette.

For those of you unfamiliar, ClutchFit is all about giving athletes a “second-skin” fit. In theory, this should result it improved support and better overall feel on the ball (something that is extremely important in soccer).

The ClutchFit FG cleats feature a two-way stretch microfiber upper that works with the symmetrical lacing system that molds around the foot with precision. The boot is reinforced with a rubberized 3D-printed layer on the outside for improved touch in virtually any weather condition. Additional features include an external heel counter, 4D Foam footbed and a highly responsive Micro G midsole. Lastly, the stud plate on the boot has been tooled in a way that it moves in harmony with the foot’s natural range of motion, allowing players to go full speed without losing stability.

The UA ClutchFit FG is currently available for pre-order. It ships out on June 12, 2014.
