All of runnings biggest brands are rolling out their latest and greatest this time of year in preparation for spring and summer. With so many new models to choose from, it's impossible to give each a proper test run to see which is the best for you. Runner's Guide helps sort through the season's most recent releases to shed some light on what they consider to be the best gear. For their annual Summer Shoe Guide, Runner's World reviewed over 20 new releases and dubbed the Saucony Ride 7 their most coveted award, "Editor's Choice".
The Saucony Ride 7 features a reengineered outsole and midsole construction with an extended SRC™ (Super Rebound Compound) crash pad, that reduces torque and enhances overall flexibility. The midsole of the Ride 7 features a full-length PowerGrid making it 15% lighter and 30% more durable than traditional EVA rubber. Saucony also incorporated a highly breathable open air mesh upper and a collar featuring RunDry technology to keep the foot cool and dry. Finally the shoe’s 8mm heel-to-toe offset places your foot in the ideal position during impact to create a greater range of motion and allow for a more powerful stride.
“Winning the Editor’s Choice Award from Runner’s World is a fantastic accomplishment for the whole Saucony team,” saidPat O'Malley, senior vice president of global product for Saucony. “The new Ride 7 is all about one thing: the runner. This latest Ride retains many of the award-winning performance technologies as its predecessor but with even more runner-inspired refinements, including an even better connection with the road. We fine-tuned the outsole and reengineered the midfoot, providing the smoothest, one-of-a-kind ride that every runner deserves.”
The Saucony Ride 7 is now available at select retailers worldwide in both mens and women's sizes for a suggested retail of $120. Keep it locked to Sneaker Report for information on the Ride 7 and when it'll be released on Saucony.com.
