Nike has reinterpreted the Air Max 1 yet again. This time one of its greatest stars has gotten a super lightweight treatment that looks like the obvious evolution after the Air Max 1 “Tape” and EM versions. Using materials that would seem more at home on a Roshe Run, the Nike Air Max 1 BR – also called the “Barefoot” – is made of the lightest available materials with hidden seams likely to reduce bulk and keep the silhouette clean as can be. A few colorways of the upcoming model have surfaced, and although they’re available for preorder overseas no US release date has been mentioned. We’ll let you know when that changes.

Until then, take a look at the detailed photos above and get a taste of what’s coming as Nike continues to innovate its classics. And while you’re at it, let us know how you feel about the Air Max 1’s unending renovations. Is the Air Max 1 still intact or has Nike gone too far?
