As reported earlier this week, we knew Nike’s "Ice" Air Max 90 was too cold. What surprised us, and almost everyone else, was how fast these pairs sold out everywhere. Nike.com was mostly emptied out in minutes, and, one by one, online retailers saw their stock whisked away on the wings of PayPal and CVV codes.

The clear winner was the University Red pair, whose presence has been, unceremoniously, expunged from Nike.com after selling out. With memories of the Hyperfuse 90 Highlighter and Independence Day packs fresh in our minds, we should have learned by now that any red Air Max 90 is going to cause a stir. Even with the Yeezy II Red Octobers behind us, it seems the red sneaker is still king.

You may still be able to find some sizes in some colors this morning before any enterprising resellers in boxy Scions scoop them all up.
