Soccer footwear design has already managed to cross over into a variety of different sports in years past. Now, it’s golf’s turn.
For 2014, adidas Golf introduces the next generation of the adizero golf shoe, which features an improved fit and is 10% lighter than last year’s model.
If the adizero One looks oddly familiar, it’s because its design is inspired by the adizero soccer cleat. The ultra-light Sprintskin+ upper with Climaproof protection is paired with a re-engineered Sprintframe outsole for the ultimate blend of comfort and traction. An external Sprintweb TPU layer provides the stability golfers require during lateral movement, while adidas’ Swing Plane Traction technology featuring CenTraXion keeps golfers firmly grounded.
Unlike last year’s adizero Tour model, which housed 10 cleats, the new adizero One features a seven-cleat design. The low-profile Stealth cleats offer improved ground contact from the tee to the green, and everything in the between.
To meet the standards of modern-day golf, the adizero One is fully waterproof. In fact, adidas is so convinced that the One is ready for all-weather play, the shoe is backed by a 2-year waterproof warranty. In addition, the One comes with two perforated coolever sockliner options: an adiZero comfort molded PU option for added cushioning, and an adizero Light die-cut EVA version for increased breathability.
