The Nike Lunar Ballistec isn’t the only tennis shoe making its debut in the New Year. While no official announcement has been made by adidas just yet, the brand has dropped the third iteration of the popular Climacool adizero Feather series—a shoe that has been highly regarded on the pro tour in recent years.

The Climacool adizero Feather 3 is essentially a complete redesign compared to the previous model. It features a new cage-like synthetic upper that should increase the flexibility and overall comfort of the shoe, giving tennis players the ability to move around the court more efficiently during high-level play.

At 13.1 ounces, the Feather 3 isn’t just one of the lightest tennis sneakers in its class, but it’s also specifically designed to help prevent overheating thanks to its 360-degree Climacool ventilation.

As far as tech goes, the adizero Feather 3 features many of the performance features that come standard in adidas-branded shoes, including Adiprene in the forefoot and in the heel for cushioning and shock absorption, and a Torsion bar in the midfoot for stability. The shoe features an external dual-density Sprintframe construction designed to maximize heel support and help prevent pronation all at the same time. To round it out, adidas slapped an Adiwear 6 outsole with a herringbone pattern on the shoe for exceptional traction and durability. It’s also miCoach compatible.

Though the Feather 3 is already available for purchase on the adidas UK site, it has yet to be posted on the brand’s US web page. Fortunately, tennis specialty retailers like Tennis Warehouse, Tennis Express and Holabird Sports are all stocked up and ready to go for all us stateside tennis fans.
