Burton Snowboards officially unveiled the 2014 U.S. Snowboarding Team uniforms bound for the Sochi Games next year. This is the third consecutive year Burton has outfitted the team, partnering with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association to create uniforms by riders, for riders.

Not a radical departure from the flannel-plain-and-jeans look that Team USA sported in 2010, Burton kept the Americana theme going with a softer attitude by relying on a muted color palette and textures borrowed from a traditional patchwork quilt. The vintage feel is equipped for performance with an all-new DRYRIDE Vaporshell laminate, the first time this technology will be used in the Olympic Competition Jackets. The pants are made of a highly technical corduroy (Right?! Corduroy!) that shares the DRYRIDE technology to keep riders warm and dry.

Here's what Greg Dacyshyn, Chief Creative Officer at Burton Snowboards had to say about the unconventional look: "We're really proud that the 2014 uniforms builds on Burton's legacy of creating fun, unconventional designs that stray from the formal, traditional look of most uniforms. The vintage quilt and flag print of the jacket combined with the corduroy pants give the uniform a 'heirloom hippy' vibe that lines up with snowboarding's laid-back culture while paying respect to America's longstanding creative heritage. It will stand out in Sochi for sure."

We don't disagree with him, Team USA will be easy to spot in Sochi.
