Tonight, Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls will host the Cleveland Cavaliers from the United Center. Since his return, Derrick Rose seems to be taking some time to adjust, and the Bulls record has suffered as a result at 2-3. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have been propelled by some outstanding play from second-year point guard Kyrie Irving and are currently 3-4, but 0-4 on the road. Still, with Derrick Rose's somewhat underwhelming play recently, this one could very well be a toss-up.

Just five years ago today, Derrick Rose was a rookie as the Chicago Bulls hosted the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta center Al Horford dominated the paint with 27 points and 17 rebounds, proving to be too much for the Bulls to handle despite a stellar night from Derrick Rose. The 2008 #1 draft pick scored 26 points, which tied his career high at the time, and also had 10 rebounds and 6 assists. In the end, Atlanta picked up a 113-108 win to advance to a 6-0 season start, but if there were any doubters, this game certainly proved that Derrick Rose was worthy of the draft's number one selection. At the end of the 2008-09 season, Rose was honored with the Rookie of the Year award.

Derrick Rose has worn the Three Stripes of adidas since his NBA debut, and his signature collection has been the brand's flagship basketball line since its inception in 2010. During this defining game and the beginning of his rookie season, Rose wore the adidas TS Creator. Equipped with Torsion System technology, this model was also worn by players like Tracy McGrady.
