Although they hit a rough patch this season, the New York Yankees are one of the greatest baseball dynasties of all time. This year, they failed to make the playoffs for just the second time in 19 years, but the Yankees will always be one of the most powerful franchises around. Their most recent World Series title was in 2009, with a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The MVP honors for the '09 series were awarded to Hideki Matsui, but another New York pitcher had a huge impact and set a postseason record during the ALCS.

On October 25, 2009, Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte took the mound 6.1 innings and allowed just one run as New York defeated the Los Angeles Angels 5-2 to win their 40th AL pennant. This also marked a personal accomplishment for Pettitte, as he became the all-time leader in postseason wins. He currently remains in the top spot with 19 career postseason victories.

The majority of Andy Pettitte's 18-year career has been spent with the New York Yankees, with a brief stint in Houston from 2004-2006. Pettitte was selected for the All-Star game on three occasions and has won five World Series championships with the Yankees. He's also New York's all-time strikeout leader, which is no small feat amongst some of the game's greatest.

During this triumphant 2009 win, Andy Pettitte took the mound in a pair of Reebok cleats. This specific style has been discontinued, but Reebok's current cleat lineup is available here. Pick up a pair today to emulate this New York Yankees legend.
