Next month, some of the toughest athletes in the world will descend upon Kona, Hawaii to compete in the IRONMAN World Championship. To celebrate the 35th year of the iconic event, Saucony has rolled out a limited edition version of the Kinvara 4, but there's a catch—it's only available in limited quantities, AND the only way you can get your feet into a pair is if you're signed up for the race.

With all the performance features still the same, like PowerGrid cushioning in the heel and a FlexFilm upper, Saucony has given the Kona Kinvara 4 a thorough Hawaiian treatment. Aesthetically, the shoe features a wide array of bright colors, including a vibrant orange outsole. On the upper, you’ll notice a Hawaiian floral print, along with the word “Kona” printed near the collar.

In honor of the 140-mile race, Saucony is offering 140 pairs of the Kona Kinvara 4. If you happen to be qualified for the October 12th race, you can reserve your pair here. For the rest of us, this could serve as motivation to sign up for next year’s Ironman—or not.
