Over the summer, Nike combined with the Drew League to make it one of the premier destinations for Summer League Pro-Am basketball; as well as the place to see upcoming Nike Basketball sneakers. Pro players from Kevin Durant and James Harden, to Nick Young and Brandon Jennings, made thier way to King Drew High School to square off against some of the greatest players in the LA area.
Over the course of the summer, we documented some of the sneaker heat found at the Drew League, like this first look at the Pit Viper colorway of the Nike Kobe 8, and an early look at the Jordan Fear Pack. Nike Sportswear also held it down at Drew League and ended the season with a special kit featuring the Nike Lunar Force 1 VT in the Armory/Slate-Black colorway and a magazine dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the league.
The magazine features stories on the history of the league, the players that keep the league going, and how the league is able to attract pro players like Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, James Harden, DeMar DeRozen and the like. With the way that the league went this year with Nike involved, many are looking at next year to be even bigger. Maybe a special Drew League version of the Nike Hyperdunk. I guess we will have to wait till next year to see. For now, enjoy the images of the magazine and the Nike Lunar Force 1 VT. For a closer look at the magazine, visit: gonike.me/drew
