Helly Hansen in well-versed in the art of creating successful trail running shoes, but in 2014, the brand will renew its focus on road running with the introduction of the Zephyr VTR.

The Zephyr VTR is designed as a do-it-all cross trainer that is equally as impressive whether you’re lifting weights in the gym, or running laps around the park. It is loaded with a premium EVA midsole with C-Zone/C-Zone+ cushioning in the heel and forefoot for lightweight impact protection, and features a low-profile design to promote a more consistent foot strike.

The upper on the Zephyr VTR is made from ultra breathable mesh that included perforated sidewalls for maximum temperature control. It’s reinforced with a thin layer of synthetic material for reinforcement and some structural integrity. On the shoe’s outsole, you’ll find Helly Hansen’s proprietary Helly Grip technology for solid traction on paved surfaces.

An official release date for the Zephyr VTR is still in the works, but as far as the price goes, expect to be around the $110 mark.
