Next year, Salomon will introduce the X-Wind Pro as part of its CityTrail lineup designed to help runners transition from the paved road to the off-road trail more seamlessly.

An update to the popular XR Crossmax, the X-Wind Pro takes on a new name, but features similar performance features as its predecessor. The shoe is expected to house the same Triple Density EVA midsole seen in the Crossmax, along with the same unique OS Tendon technology that is embedded between the midsole and outsole that connects the heel crash pad and forefoot for improved stability and a more natural transition.

Listed at 11.3 ounces, the X-Wind Pro is slightly lighter than the Crossmax, and even comes with a reduced price tag, making it light on you feet AND your wallet.

Look for the shoe to hit retailers sometime in January 2014. Stay tuned to Sneaker Report for all of your running footwear needs.
