The Saucony Guide running sneaker is slated to get even more horsepower under the hood, as today we take a sneak peak at the next edition of the brand’s flagship guidance shoe, the Guide 7

Now, despite the changes made to the shoe, you’re still going to get the same fit and support that Guide fans are accustomed to, so don't freak out. In addition, the Guide 7 features some slight modifications to enhance its flexibility and forward efficiency.

For starters, the Guide 7 features redesigned overlays on the upper for enhanced mobility, as well as a reformatted outsole design to allow the forefoot to propel forward with more power during toe-off. The biggest upgrade in the shoe by far is the switch from the lightweight ProGrid midsole to a sturdier PowerGrid version for better cushioning and responsiveness. This means more support and comfort underfoot (which hopefully translates to more miles on the road).

The Guide 7 is on tap for a Fall 2013 release. Stay tuned for an official release date, as well as a performance review on the shoe.
