In their last game before the All-Star break, the St. Louis Cardinals were propelled by a stellar showing from catcher Yadier Molina. The Cardinals defeated Chicago 10-6, outhitting the Cubs 21-11 on the night. Molina's stat sheet alone is impressive, but it was the timing of his ninth-inning homer that helped to seal the win for the Cards.

In six at bats, Molina finished with four hits, three runs, and four RBIs, leading his team in both hits and runs batted in. In the ninth, St. Louis was up by just one run when Molina took the plate and hit a 380 yard homer which drove home three runs, putting the lead out of reach for at 10-6. After the Midsummer Classic on Tuesday, the Cardinals will look to keep their momentum going. Manager Mike Matheny had this to say on the matter: "We need to be real careful so we can continue to progress, make sure we are aiming for that first day after the break."

New Balance has been making waves in baseball for awhile now, and Molina's been representing the brand in the NB 3000 cleat. This model features a full-length Revlite midsole for cushioning and a breathable nubuck/mesh upper. Pick up a pair today for $90 and channel your inner Molina.
