The shoe makes its arrival a few days earlier than expected, but that’s just good news for Newton Running fans old and new. Due to its Action/Reaction forefoot technology, Newton Running shoes aren’t always easy to transition into from traditional sneakers. But the Energy NR hopes to change that thanks to a lower-set midfoot shank that bridges the gap between the heel and forefoot. This means a less prominent plate in the forefoot for a smoother transition.
At just 9 ounces, the Energy NR is one of the lightest sneakers in the guidance trainer category. Much of that can be attributed to the air mesh upper with minimal overlays for less bulk and more ventilation. On the heel, a 3D reflective tab allows runners to remain visible at night and during low light conditions.
