adidas is the official kit supplier for Bayern Munich. Perhaps someone should have passed that bit of information along to recent additions to the squad Mario Gotze and Jan Kirchhoff. At a press conference held on Tuesday to officially welcome the new players, both Gotze and Kirchhoff showed up to the event in Nike T-shirts. Granted both players have their own endorsement deals with the Nike, but perhaps they should have known better than to show an adidas event in Swoosh-branded attire.

After learning about the infraction, adidas spokesman Oliver Bruggen had this to say: “"The pictures from today's press conference with Mario Gotze have negatively surprised us. Contractually that is not permissible because it is an official event of Adidas partner Bayern Munich. We have already discussed with Bayern Munich."

Bayern Munich responded with the following public apology via media director Markus Horwick: "These T-shirts have gotten by us in the general hustle and bustle and we regret that very much. We have assured Adidas that this will not happen again."
