On Monday, Maria Sharapova squared off against her toughest opponent yet at the 2013 French Open in Sloane Stephens. But at the end, the young American was no match for the No. 2 ranked women’s tennis player in the world, as Sharapova won in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) for a fourth consecutive match.
Sharapova flashed her custom Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour iD sneakers as she out-played Stephens in nearly every facet of the game. Her sneakers, which are a part of a special edition collection rolled out by Nike specifically for their ace, are some of her more memorable shoes to date—and some of the best-looking sneakers spotted at Roland Garros this year.
Next up, Sharapova's quarterfinal match against Jelena Jankovic should be a bit more of a challenge for the defending French Open champ.
