Despite struggling through the first week of the 2013 French Open, Rafael Nadal has regained top form on his favorite surface, as he beat Stanislas Wawrinka earlier today to reach the semifinal round of the Grand Slam he’s won seven times before.

Nadal, in his favorite Nike Air Max Courtballistec 4.3 sneakers, jumped out to an early first-set lead, and cruised the rest of the way as he crushed Wawrinka in straight sets (6-2, 6-3, 6-1). The Courtballistec 4.3 is the same shoe Nadal won last year’s Roland Garros title in, but in a more toned down colorway.

The Spaniard’s latest win sets up a marquee showdown against the No. 1 player in the world in Novak Djokovic. Nadal will certainly need to bring his A-game, as Djokovic will look to avenge his 2012 French Open loss in the finals to Rafa.
