Earlier, we received a preview of Ronnie Fieg's latest hype-ensuing with collaboration with ASICS, the "Flamingo" Gel Lyte III, via a cover of Sneaker Freaker magazine. Like most Fieg releases, we now have a closer look at the sneakers, and the materials once again are crazy on point.
It's not just that the Gel Lyte III is a great silhouette to work with, it's the attention to detail, the use of nubucks, and even putting in a proper set of laces that set Fieg's work apart from regular Gel Lyte III releases. We're not saying that the common releases aren't great, too. They are, but this might actually become the sneaker of the summer. It's executed that well. The dull-grey nubuck is perfectly contrasted against the flamingo pink, which doesn't even seem too bright. In a world full seizure-enducing kicks, this might be the perfect tradeoff.
