Michael Jordan has always had a competitive, heated rivalry with the Knicks, and on May 31, 1993, he had one of his very best performances against NY. Down 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Chicago Bulls hosted the Knicks at Chicago Stadium. The Knicks roster of 1993 included players like Patrick Ewing, John Starks, and Charles Oakley, but they were no match for the fury Jordan would unleash in Game 4.

Shooting 18-30 from the field, Jordan dropped a whopping 54 points and also grabbed 6 boards. Chicago would end up taking Game 4 with a final score of 105-95, and went on to close out the series in the following games. Pitted against the Poenix Suns in the NBA Finals, Jordan led the Bulls to their third consecutive NBA Championship, the first of two three-peats.

During the '93 Playoffs, Mike wore the Air Jordan VIII in a black/red colorway which has since become known as the "Playoffs". The Air Jordan VIII was a change of pace from its predecessor, taking on a high-profile, boot-like construction that featured lockdown straps across the forefoot. Featuring Air cushioning and a snug inner bootie, the Air Jordan VIII is a suitable choice for forwards and bigger guards. A Phoenix Suns inspired colorway commemorating Jordan's '93 Finals win is available now for $160.
