Nike+ is looking to expand exponentially in the next year by adding 10 companies to take part in their first-ever Accelerator program. Starting with a three month journey to Portland, Ore., the brand will begin developing and evolving products to inspire everyday athletes by infusing training, coaching, gaming, sport, wellness and rewards into today's technology.

Sounds like this summer will be full of products directed to the athletic gamer in us all.

The companies that will receive $20,000 funding along with leadership from Nike's best, such as Nike VP of Digital Sport Stefan Olander, Founder and CEO of TechStars, Co-founder of Foursquare Naveen Selvadurai, co-founder of Birchbox Katia Beauchamp, Managing Director of Mayfield Fund Tim Chang, and quantified-self guru Tim Gerriss, include: FitDeck, GoRecess, Chroma Games, GoFitCause, HighFive, Sprout At Work, GeoPalz, Incomparable Things, and RecBob.

Find out more about chosen companies here, as Sneaker Report will be delivering the latest on this project until it culminates in mid-June.
