Rudy Gay didn't see the trade coming. In fact, most people outside the Memphis Grizzlies front office didn't and still don't quite get it. But the fact is ready or not, Rudy's a Raptor. So it was one classy tweet and then up top to T-Dot for Gay. Even off the bench, the nine year veteran produced and dropped 20 off the bench to lead all scorers in Friday night's 98-73 win at his new home over the Clippers.
Sporting the Air Jordan VI "Carmine's," Gay showed Toronto fans what they now have to look forward to on his first play. The AJ VI's best functional feature has always been the grip on it's clear outsole and even if the scenary has changed, the sense of security playing in these Jordan Retros hasn't. Gay left a "Big Three" in the south, but he has a chance to be the biggest star since Drake if things go right with DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry in Toronto.
Word to the Weekend.
