After putting together a list of the cleats worn by every Super Bowl MVP in NFL history, we we anxious to see which player from Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII showdown between San Francisco and Baltimore would earn the next coveted spot on the list. Now, with the title in the hands of the Ravens, we have our answer: Joe Flacco.
Despite all of the special edition cleats rolled out by brands like Nike and Under Armour specifically for the big game, Flacco went with his usual Nike Lunar Super Bad Pros, as he completed 22 of 33 passes, for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Led by their star quarterback, the Ravens went the entire second half without scoring a touchdown. However, Flacco got a little help from the defense, as Ray Lewis and company managed to overcome an impressive comeback from the 49ers with a timely red zone stop in the final moments of the game.
Flacco is the fourth quarterback in the last five Super Bowls to win MVP. Now that he has a championship ring, do you consider him to be an elite quarterback in the league? Let us know on Twitter.
