As much as the Jordan Brand's annual game shoe has come to stand for innovation, design and new milestones each and every year, it's still the very first one that means the most to me. Specifically, in black and red. Simple, but perhaps the most industry-shifting move the brand ever made. I personally hate white shoes — hate them — and I have the Air Jordan 1 to thank for bringing color to the game, and injecting life into sneakers ever since.
The Indiglo XIV, Playoff XII and any and all XIs are clearly amazing, but the fact that the 1 is so wearable all these years later makes it that much more iconic. Don't laugh, you might even see me wearing them at 50.
