The Farmers Insurance Open is currently underway, and after the first day of play, adidas-sponsored golfer and defending champion Brandt Snedeker is tied for first place with K.J. Choi. The adizero Golf line was announced earlier this month, and now fans are able to see the sneakers in action.

But perhaps the coolest aspect of this sneaker debut is the way adidas has chosen to reveal their sponsored players. Snedeker was joined by Dustin Johnson (2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions winner) and PGA Tour standout Jason Day as they were launched into flight over the Torrey Pines Gliderport. Well, almost. In a truly innovative move, adidas created life-like replicas of each golfer, right down to their specific attire and sneakers. As the players joined a press conference to discuss the new adizero Golf line, they "flew in" their replica counterparts via remote control. The idea behind the golfers in flight is to accentuate the extremely light weight of the adizero Tour (10.6oz).
