In the late '80s, there wasn't much thought that went into creating basketball sneakers. In fact, the general consensus seemed to be something along the lines of the more leather and rubber, the better support. Michael Jordan wanted something that wasn't as heavy, Tinker Hatfield made it happen, Mike made them fly and the Air Jordan III began to change the way basketball sneakers were created.
