If you happen to be watching the OKC-Brooklyn game tomorrow night, and notice something slightly odd on the feet of the Thunder’s Russell Westbrook, don’t be alarmed, it’s just a pair of recently unveiled Air Jordan XX8s.

There have been countless Jordan Brand basketball sneakers produced over the past couple of decades, but nothing like what we see in the AJ XX8s. Though it may not look it, the latest Jordan kicks are the lightest, most responsive the brand has built to date.

Designed by none other than the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the sneakers feature a zip-down bootie design that extends over the ankle for a completely lockdown fit. Beneath the all-black outer-bootie is a neon green sneaker with minimal branding. Rounding out the AJ XX8 is a carbon fiber plate for stability and a translucent outsole that. While we’re still trying to make sense of the unconventional design of the shoes, we’ll just wait to see how they perform in real live action tomorrow. Check back for more on the AJ XX8s.
