Michael Jordan was ready before the Air Jordan was. And when the 1984 NBA season kicked off, Nike's newest spokesman needed a shoe. Enter the Air Ship. Designed by Bruce Kilgore as something of a successor to his Air Force 1, the Air Ship represented a technological advancement, if not an aesthetic one. Today it's mostly a footnote in Nike history, thanks to Mr. Jordan. But seeing what this deadstock size 10 pair has been bid up to already, a retro seems like it would be welcomed.
