With the opening day of the 2012 NBA season just weeks away, we take a moment to look at the Jordan Melo M8 Advance basketball sneaker.

The New York Knicks have added a lot of new pieces over the offseason in hopes of providing some on-court help for superstar player Carmelo Anthony. However, Anthony's biggest ally on the hardwood may just be his upcoming Melo M8 Advance signature sneaker. Some of the improvements from Melo's previous shoe includes an updated lightweight upper that features no-sew construction for a more unified fit. As far as under the hood, the M8 still has the Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot and a Mar Air unit in the heel, making for an ultra-responsive performance sneaker.

The shoe will be available starting October 17th in two Knicks-inspired colorways. For home games, Melo will lace up the white/orange kicks, and for away games, the blue/black.
