When David Falk told Nike that he wanted Michael Jordan to be treated more like a tennis player than a basketball player, he was no doubt thinking of guys like Ivan Lendl. The cadaverous Czech wasn't ranked number-one in the world until 1983, but by then he already had a full line of gear from adidas, from shirts and shoes all the way to racquets. The Lendl Comp from 1984 remains an adidas connosseur favorite.
