Mike's retirement is once again the focal point for a theme surrounding the Air Jordan Retro IX "Crawfish". "Crawfish" is stitched on the inner of the tongue and refers to a semi-pro team that MJ fictitiously played for during his retirement in 1993. On the outside of the tongue reads "Bentley Eliis", another one of Jordan's alter-egos he donned during his rendezvous in the minor leagues. Oddly enough it appears that Michael chose to keep his traditional number 23 while playing for the 'fish, so that is the number the shoe bears.
