The Team USA women's soccer team is a heavy favorite to win gold at the London Olympics─ something Under Armour seems to be well aware of.
Led by stars Lauren Cheney, Heather Mitts, and Becky Sauerbrunn, the team will be outfitted with custom UA Hydrastrike II soccer cleats during the Olympic tournament. Weighing in 35% lighter than its predecessor, the Hydrastrike II features UA's CORESPEED outsole, which allows the athlete to accelerate and make cuts at the drop of a dime. The boot also features a 4D FOAM sockliner for improved traction, custom fit, and comfort, while their Water Intelligent technology ingrained in the performance leather offers all-around protection from the elements.
The boots seem to be paying dividends so far, as the ladies took care of business in their group opener against France earlier today. If everything goes according to planned, Team USA will be standing atop the podium in a few weeks, and their Under Armour cleats will be along for the ride.
