In the late '80s, Nike divided their basketball category into two separate camps—Force and Flight. Force, represented by players like Charles Barkley and Moses Malone, was for guys who made their living in the paint. Flight was for the guys who flew over it—including Gerald Wilkins, Ron Harper, and, in the flagship shoe, Michael Jordan. The Air Maestro was one of the key shoes in the early '90s, and would be famously worn by Scottie Pippen in the '94 All-Star Game and by Jason Kidd at Cal. This earlier model may not be as well known as Pip's bright red pair, but they're still a significant piece of Nike b-ball history—in an easily displayable size 9.
