Today's entry in the "20 Designs That Changed The Game" series focuses the spotlight on a player with a massive impact on the game of basketball. There were many great womens players, but it's arguable that Sheryl Swoopes may have been the greatest. A superb college player, Olympian, and one of the building blocks to an infantile WNBA, Sheryl did it all. And a marquee player needed a marquee shoe. The Nike Air Swoopes featured a slick design, Nike Air throughout, and a notable midfoot strap which made the sneaker a real eye-catcher. Soon the boys were trying to get the Air Swoopes in larger sizes. Men are from Mars, though. [via Nike, Inc.]
